You gotta turn your camera opposite direction of mobs, shoot and run.

The problem with this place and build in most cases is ping. Yes high ping will get you killed. I have played with low ping and I have manage flawless runs with my ritualist. But if i have ~200+ it gets tough. When I have high ping I usually press back before I do barrage a few times. What happens is that you release the skill farther away than normally pressing barrage. Also I set an eoe in a safe place where they can fully aggro the eoe and kill it if they run to far. It give me a sec. more to run away. You have to make sure that the eoe isnt too close but at 2-3 circle from the end of the pit. IF they still chase you to the end wall it is probably gg though so gl. With my rituallist I run in natural stride for the full duration 5-6 secs.( I forget exactly).

I've been playing with this build some over the last couple of nights trying to get it too work and I'm having two issues. First, I've had a couple runs where the golems have chased me down so I've been working on solving that problem by taking some sort of cripple trap to place by EoE. Results so far are inconclusive. Second, I keep getting a straggler that hangs around from the near group and I can't kill him off or in general the build isn't doing damage fast enough once I kill off the first few members of the group. Attributes and equipment are set as in the OP. Any suggestions/comments?

You might want to go watch the video of the rit doing the run. That may answer some of your questions. I have yet to complete a run, but I'm getting close. Takes a little practice to get everything figured out.

I'm not real thrilled with this build...once a group gets down to one or two they are very difficult to kill. Nightmare weapon seems to have almost no effect on them and the running back and forth gets pretty tedious after awhile. I may not be doing something quite right but maybe this build just works a lot better for rit primaries.

The first time I did this run I did really well and got 2 Stygian gems and a req 9 gold Igneous blade. I got stuck with golems again and couldn't finish them off because they regen their HP too fast.

I saw the N/A solo farmer uses Suffering, but I can't think of anything that this build can use.

Anyone have any good strats for dealing with a group where only one Golem is left? I keep getting stuck with them because they seem to spread out more. :/

I've tried trapping them and that seems to help some but still can't kill off those last couple of golems...spent two hours trying to kill them off and finally couldn't take the tedium anymore. That's my problem with this build I keep getting one or two left in a group and killing them off is difficult to impossible.

Also been looking for someone to try to duo this w/ but I'm not finding any luck there either. Very frustrating all the way around this weekend I guess. I was thinking that one ranger could trap and the other barrage, might be a lot quicker...and probably a lot more fun. Solo farming always bores me quickly even when I can actually get it to work.

If you would like to see how to do the run PM me. I am a rit primary but the run is still the same, it just takes longer with a ranger.

You do not really need any armor, except for your headpiece with a rune. If you get hit you are doing something wrong.

I figured what I was doing wrong on the Golems. I watched the video of the Rt/R doing the run and you will notice that he doesn't drop spirits when the Golems come out. If you do drop spirits, the Golems tend to chase you too far and screws up your damage rate. This means you have more of a chance of a lone Golem screwing your run up.

So basically, don't drop spirits in any groups with a Golem. The Brutes are fine because the 25% run speed boost they have isn't enough to chase you more than like 1/2 of a bubble at most when you're running at 33%.

R/Rt simply doesn't work with odd stranglers. I tried everything. Nice aggro, no EoE, Nightmare weap+Dual shot but I ALWAYS end up with one golem :/

Any help for R/Rt?

Edit: I've managed to pass the 3rd left wave (the one with the Golems) but that was because I was lucky and managed to Dual Shot him (with Nightmare weapon). On the 4th wave I tried to kill the Golem first and suceeded but then I died because only the Fiend and the Horror were left alive. What am I doing wrong here? :/ Any help appreciated, cause so far I managed to not pick a req. 9 Shadow Axe and 4-5 Stygian gems. :P Thanks

If you need to pick up items, you can kill off the other groups down to 1 each and run in and ninja grab the items. Or if it's a lot aggro all 3 groups into a EoE spirit down by the "Maw" and run around and grab the items then sprint away then repeat.

Also, my Ranger is LB Rank 8 so I might have a much easier time killing them all. I sometimes get a single guy but usually I can finish them off. I killed the entire 3 waves minus 1 Stygian Brute (Warrior right?) where I finally got too lazy and just picked up what was left and quit. I was using Arcing Shot hoping that it would hit the target a lot slower but it wasn't enough. I'm going to bring Sundering Shot instead since the 20% AP will be enough to single kill anything that's left. Also, I had singles before in that run that I was able to kill with Barrage/Arcing Shot.

Also, I bring Winnowing instead of Nightmare Weapon. It's simply too short duration for you to be able to get off more than 1 shot per cast before you have to run back.

As for any group with Golems, in addition to no spirits you have to always remember to run further than normal! I have my Natural Stride at a measly 4 seconds. In this case, you need to be running to the point far enough out where when you run back and shoot Natural Stride is recharged. I am able to constantly run away enough to lose aggro, then run back just by hitting Barrage and as soon as I fire, NS is back up. Sometimes the Golems have Harrier's Haste on them and keep chasing so I boost away with either Dodge or Zolun's Haste. Try watching that Rit video in the second post and see if it helps you understand what I'm trying to describe.

after the update seem like this run is harder in hard mode. They heal more often so it take longer to kill them. I havent tried normal mode yet but the drop is better. Anyone else want to share their exp?

Why not ??

Golds and rares drop just as often for solo as they do for 8-man

You just lose out on the crap that fills up your inventory.
